Miroslav Šilić

Miroslav Šilić (Novi Sad, 1967) is an architect, designer and visual artist. Assistant Professor at Academy of Arts Novi Sad, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Graduated from Belgrade Faculty of Architecture and at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. Master’s degree in Visual art at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. He has been working at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad since 2007 as a professor in the Architecture and Interior Design program. Head of the Applied Arts and Design study program (2015-). Head of Department of Fine Arts (2018-). Author of the studio program Interior Design at the Academy of Art Novi Sad.

Prior to that he worked as an architect-designer from 2003-07, and as a teaching assistant at the Department of Architecture Faculty of Technical Sciences, from 1997-2001. Since 2008 he leads his own architectural studio. Member of the Association of Artists of Applied Arts and Design (UPIDIV), Association of Architects of Novi Sad (DANS) and Serbian Chamber of Engineers (IKS).

Study visits abroad at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, Italy (2017), the Academy of Arts and Design in Bratislava, the Slovak Republic (2018) and the Escuela de Arte Superior de Diseno Mestre Mateo, Santiago de Compostela, Spain (2019) within Erasmus + scholarship mobility for teachers.

As an author, co-author or team member, he has worked on a number of architectural projects (Cultural Centre of Novi Sad, Sports Centre Futog, French Cultural Centre in Novi Sad, residential, private homes and business facilities) as well as on the projects for reconstruction and adaptation of building heritage for the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.

From 2002 to 2010 he was the art editor of DaNS Magazine and other publications of the Association of Architects of Novi Sad.

Exhibited at a number of collective exhibitions in the country (Biennial Exhibition of Applied Art and Design Forma, Salon of Architecture in Novi Sad, Salon of Architecture in Belgrade, October Salon of Novi Sad etc.) and abroad (Czech Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and at six solo exhibitions in the country and abroad (Banska Bistrica, Slovakia). Participated in the work of numerous international art projects and workshops (Danube Links, Stop City, Pannonian Arth Path, Bizzare Love Triangle – Public Sculptures in Novi Sad, New Cultural Spaces of Vojvodina).

He won the “Great Gold Forma” Award at the 19th Forma – Biennial of Applied Arts in 2009, the Salon of Architecture Award in Belgrade in 2008, the Salon of Architecture Award in Novi Sad in 2001, as well as the awards of the University of Novi Sad for success during the course of the study, 1992. At the national competition of the Ministry of Culture and Information for the purchase of works of fine arts in 2014, the sculpture “Sound of Space” for the central building of the University of Novi Sad was purchased. At the National Competition of the Ministry in 2015, the equipment for the building of the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad was purchased.
